Real Something White bride, Alexa, married her now husband, Mark, in a dreamy, elegant summer wedding. Alexa + Mark wanted a simple + classic theme that was elevated with personal touches + natural finishes + they chose their wedding date based off Mark’s love for football + his schedule as a coach. When it was all said + done, the two had the perfect summer wedding at the always gorgeous, Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri + no detail was missed.

How did you decide on July 11th?
“Mark is a football coach, so we had limited options. July 11th just fit into our schedule!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We are high school sweethearts + have been dating since 2006!”
What was one of your favorite moments from your day?
“Our first look! It was such a stressful day, but having that intimate moment with Mark made me feel so much better!”
Tell us about the proposal!
“Mark proposed on our 13 year dating anniversary. I was still in bed + he brought me a cup of coffee with the ring tied in a ribbon to the cup handle! Our dogs were still in bed with me too!”
What advice would you give to other brides in regard to dress shopping?
“Be open to different styles + try a number of dresses on before making a decision. Also, if you are unsure about your decision, don’t be afraid to sleep on it before pulling the trigger. I bought the wrong dress at a different shop + realized days later that wasn’t the dress for me. Luckily, I found my dream dress at Something White!”
How did you know your gown was the one?
“I kind of answered this in the last question - but I bought a dress at a different bridal shop + realized it wasn’t the one a few days later. Then, I went to Something White + found my dream dress + knew right away! It’s just a certain feeling you get - it’s hard to explain until you feel it + everything starts to feel real!”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?
“I like very neutral + classic colors, so I just went off of that!”
Where did you draw your inspiration + ideas from?
“Mainly Pinterest. I also had a long time to think about certain things - I always knew I wanted the bridesmaids + groomsmen to all be in navy!”
