If you’ve always wanted a classic, modern and unique wedding, then you’ve come to the right place. You’re going to love Katlyn and Greg’s light and airy wedding day filled with gorgeous blooms! With the help of Events and Design by Ashley, these lovebirds transformed The Highlands into a dreamy celebration full of floral installations, chandeliers, blooms and gold accents. Oh, and when I say dreamy, I mean it. I’m talking floor-to-ceiling floral installations and chandeliers suspended over lush tablescapes.

I’ve never seen anything like it and I’m speechless.

Oh, and did I mention, Katlyn is a bridal stylist at our sister store, Brick & Bustle Bridal Shop in Wichita. She’s kind and beautiful and generous and we are so excited to share her special day with all of you!

How did the two of you meet?

“We met at Kansas State University through mutual friends!”

Tell us about the proposal!

“Greg said we were going for a walk by the Keeper Of The Plains, but when he started getting all nervous and red, I kind of knew something was up! We walked around the area for awhile and then he got down on one knee and popped the question! The best part was that he also planned a surprise engagement party after where all our friends and family were waiting for us! It was also one of the last times we could celebrate and be together with everyone before COVID hit a couple months later!”

Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning?

“I knew I wanted it to be timeless, elegant and knew we had to have lots of bright, springy florals. Our colors were gold, blush pink, navy and lots of greenery!”

How did you know your gown was the one?

“It gave me butterflies the moment I tried it on! I was between two, but my consultant and family helped me talk through what I really wanted and what I knew I was leaning towards. I also could not wait to put back on the one and didn’t want to take it off. :)”

Where did you draw your inspiration and ideas from?

“Pinterest, wedding Instagram pages and our coordination, Ashley LaBus helped me with inspiration, too!”

What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?

“Trust yourself and your consultant :-) and have SO MUCH FUN. Wedding dress shopping should be painless and easy if you let it be!”

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

“We had a special dance during our reception where Greg and I danced with both of our parents and all of our grandparents to honor them for all their years of marriage and for being such great role models for us! It was so special and something we will never take for granted or forget!”
