REAL BRIDE: Ryann
Ryann + Jon
10.12.24
Ryann and Jon’s wedding was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and personal charm—set against the rich, romantic backdrop of fall. From the moment guests arrived, they were immersed in a day full of heartfelt moments, refined details, and thoughtful touches that told the couple’s unique love story. Ryann looked radiant in a stunning Blue by Enzoani gown, and the celebration was beautifully brought to life with one-of-a-kind florals by Wild Hill Flowers, capturing the magic of the season in every bloom.
Bagpipes welcomed guests into the ceremony, setting a tone of tradition and grandeur, while a sparkler tunnel lit up the night as the couple made their dazzling exit. Perhaps the most adorable guest of honor? Their sweet pup Kato, who added a touch of joy (and lots of tail wags!) to the day. From quiet, intimate moments to the unforgettable finale, Ryann and Jon’s wedding was a true celebration of love, family, and the little details that make a big impact.

What made you decide to get married on this particular date?
“I have always dreamed of getting married in the fall because it is my favorite season, and I thought October would be beautiful. I also only like even numbers, so we picked 10/12/2024.”
What advice would you give to other brides in regards to dress shopping?
“Try on different styles until you narrow down one that you love, then trust your gut on which one is the "one"! Don't overthink it! Also, only shop at Something White Bridal Boutique because they are truly the BEST in town!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We met through our mutual friend, Cyrena, who actually designed our signage for the day of the wedding as well! Cyrena is now married to my close friend Amanda's older brother, but when they first started dating she joined our friend group and the 2 of us became close. She knew I was single and said that I should meet her single guy best friend. I didn't think I would ever meet him or that if I did it would ever work out. Fast forward a few weeks, my friends went out to a few bars to enjoy a beautiful day and little did I know that Cyrena invited my now husband to join our group. We hit it off that day and the rest is history!”
How did the proposal happen?
“Jon told me that we should plan a dinner for us and both of our parents since his parents were going to be in town from Iowa for the Big 12 basketball tournament. He made "dinner reservations" for all of us at Garozzos, which never happened, as it was all just a cover for the proposal! The day before our "reservation" he informed me that his dad wanted to go to Boulevard Brewing Company for a beer before dinner, so we had a slight change of plans. When we arrived at Boulevard, we went upstairs to the beer hall to look for our parents. When I didn't see them inside, Jon led me outside on the balcony where both of our parents and a photographer were waiting!”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“The entire day was my favorite, but one moment that stuck out to me the most was right after our ceremony, there was an hour gap between our ceremony and reception, and after we took family photos at the church we went to The Drum Room to take a few bar photos. When we walked in most of our guests were already there and started cheering when we walked in. That moment was when reality kicked in for me that all of our favorite people were there to celebrate us!”
Did you have a specific theme in mind while planning (if any - colors, features, etc.)?
“I knew that I wanted a fall themed wedding, but wanted to keep it very elegant and classy. I asked for fall colors, like burnt oranges/rust, but mostly neutrals and definitely not Halloween.”
Congratulations to the Daters!
We are obsessed with your day and are wishing you so much happiness together!
