What made you decide to get married on this particular date?
“April 12 is our anniversary, we got married on our 7-year anniversary!”
How did the two of you meet?
“We met in college at Truman State University; we were next door neighbors! My roommate invited him over to hang out and he showed up the next night as all of us were watching a scary movie! He then messaged me a few weeks later asking if all of us wanted to hang out but I was the only one in town (we were on break, but I had to work) and so only I went over. We stayed up talking for 10 hours straight and we've been best friends since.”
How did the proposal happen?
“He took me to my hometown and proposed at Meramec Springs in front of the waterfall. This is the place I grew up going with family and also would go when I needed to think or relax.”
Where did you draw your inspiration/ideas from?
“We are very much nature people, so we just wanted to highlight as much nature as possible. We also don't do object gifts to each other, we do adventure gifts. The first time we got to go on a big adventure we went to Hawaii and that's where the inspo for the bouquet came from!”
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
“The day goes by so fast! We decided to get up and have coffee together the morning of and it turned into one of our favorite memories of the day as it was one of the only times we truly felt we got to sit and be quiet together.”
How did you know your gown was "the one"?
“I walked out in it for the 2nd time and before we could even put a veil on, everyone I brought with me to my appointment was already crying. That, and I don't like to look at myself but when I had the dress on, I couldn't stop staring and never wanted to take it off!”
A huge congratulations to Jessie + Grant from all of us at Something White!
It was such an honor to be a small part of your beautiful wedding day. We’re so happy for you both and are wishing you all the best in your next chapter!
